That same year, Murphy expanded his monumental Boonji Spaceman series with largescale installations across the globe, including a 22-foot sculpture at Hodges Bay Resort in Antigua and a 19-foot installation at The Arx in London. These works further established Murphy’s vision of art as a conduit for curiosity, connection, and positive energy.

Additional milestones included Art Miami with Nicole McGraw Fine Art and a Sotheby’s Online Auction in collaboration with the Norton Museum of Art, marking 2021 as a defining year in the artist’s international ascent.

THE ARTIST’S VIEW

My work begins with curiosity. I’m constantly asking questions about who we are, what drives us, and how we connect. The Boonji Spacemen have little to do with space travel; they are about that leap into the unknown, the willingness to take a step when you cannot see where it leads. That moment of uncertainty fascinates me most because itmirrors life itself.

Color, words, and form are my vocabulary. I use color to communicate energy, as it is the most direct way to translate emotion into something visible. The handwritten formulas and phrases on my sculptures and paintings are not meant to be solved; they are fragments of thought, reminders that life is not linear, that emotion defies equation. Every mark is a record of curiosity meeting feeling.

What I try to capture is the balance between chaos and clarity, logic and wonder. Art is not about control for me; it is about surrender. You work until something starts to breathe, until it speaks back. That is when I know the piece is alive. In the end, art is a language of connection. It allows us to share what cannot be explained in words. My hope is that when someone stands before one of my works, they see a reflection of themselves, their fears, their hope, their humanity, and that they feel a little less alone in the unknown.

BRANDAN MURPHY • COLLECTIBLES •

the collectibles

Brendan Murphy’s Collectibles translate the philosophy of his art into an intimate scale, extending the spirit of his creativity beyond the studio and into the hands of collectors. Each piece embodies the same curiosity, emotion, and optimism that define his larger body of work, reimagined as limited editions that invite a personal connection with the artist’s vision.

Every Collectible is individually hand-inscribed by Murphy, making each work a unique expression within its edition. The artist’s handwritten formulas and phrases link these smaller sculptures directly to his broader practice, carrying the same sense of thought, spontaneity, and emotion that runs through his paintings and full-scale sculptures.

Conceived as modern talismans and symbols of exploration, the Collectibles are crafted with the precision of fine art and the intention of storytelling. They exist where art meets design, uniting the intimacy of personal expression with the presence of sculpture. Each piece carries the unmistakable energy of Murphy’s world, a reminder that art is not confined to galleries but can live among us, quietly transforming the spaces we inhabit.
